The National Legal Services Authority
has come up with a relief policy offering a minimum amount of Rs 5 lakh and Rs
7 lakh respectively as an aid to poor women who go through financial crisis
after a sexual assault or an acid attack. NALSA has drawn up this scheme in
collaboration with the Centre. NALSA’s scheme has been prepared after the
Supreme Court order seeking ‘model rules’ to succour to women victims and their
family members, particularly the poor and residents of rural areas lacking
resources to fight legal battles.
