SUPREME COURT ASKED ALL STATE HIGH COURTS IN INDIA TO FILE REPORTS ON PENDING POCSO CASES

The Supreme Court sought a district-wise data on cases pending under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act from the Registrar Generals of High Courts across the country. The petition, filed by Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava, had also sought framing of guidelines that investigation and trial of the cases under POCSO should be completed within six months from the date of registration of FIR.
