SUPREME COURT ADMITTED THAT CHILDREN TOO HAVE RIGHTS, AND ASKED CENTRE AND STATES TO IMPLEMENT JUVENILE JUSTICE ACT

The Supreme Court issued a slew of directions for effective implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and asked the Chief Justices of all the High Courts to consider establishing child-friendly courts and vulnerable witness courts in each district.  The Court also asked the Centre and states to ensure that all positions in national and state commissions for the protection of child rights are filled up.
