The Supreme Court has suspended the Engineering degrees
granted between 2001 and 2005 through distance learning by four deemed
universities JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, Institute of Advanced Studies in
Education in Rajasthan, Allahabad Agricultural Institute and Vinayaka Mission's
Research Foundation in Tamil Nadu. However, Students who took admission between
2001 and 2005 to revive their degree by undergoing a fresh examination to be
conducted by AICTE. The court also restrained all deemed universities across
the country from continuing any distance learning courses from the 2018-19
without prior approval of the regulatory authorities.
