COMPLAINTS ON FOOD ADULTERATION SHOULD BE FILED IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT INORDINATE DELAY

As Per law, no prosecution can be continued against the accused persons for the offense punishable under the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act if there has been an inordinate delay in filing the complaint against them.  According Section 11 (4) of the Act mandates that the food samples seized shall be produced before a magistrate as soon as possible, and not later than 10 days after receipt of the report of public analyst.
