FIR FILED AGAIN INORBIT MALL FOR COLLECTING LARGE AMOUNT OF PARKING CHARGE

A resident of Hyderabad filed an FIR against Inorbit mall after he was told to pay Rs 30 for using the parking lot for just 10 minutes. He is particularly annoyed at the large amount demanded by malls as parking charge.

CBI BEGINS PROBE INTO 18 LAND DEALS, INCLUDING ROBERT VADRA-LINKED FIRM’S

The CBI began its probe into 18 cases referred to it by the Rajasthan government for alleged irregularities in land deals in Bikaner by companies, including one linked to Robert Vadra. CBI sources said the agency has re-registered 18 FIRs in connection with these land deals, which were earlier probed by the Rajasthan Police.

COURT ORDERED INVESTIGATION AGAINST MONSTER.COM ON DATA SALE

A trial court in Delhi ordered a probe against online jobs portal Monster.com for allegedly selling data on website users to a third party. Chief metropolitan magistrate Naresh Kumar Laka said online companies could not share personal information of users to a third party without their informed consent.

SUPREME COURT PRIVACY JUDGMENT BOOST FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO DIE WITH DIGNITY

The Supreme Court Judge Chelameswar stated that ‘an individual's right to refuse life-prolonging medical treatment or terminate his life is another freedom which falls within the zone of the right to privacy.

EVEN A COURT ORDER CAN'T BE RUN CONTRADICTORY TO LAW

Any order passed by any court cannot be run contrary to the statute or the law made there under. The statute of the Cooperative Societies Act provides filing of an appeal within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of the order. Even if the High Court directs the parties concerned to file an appeal within 15 days, the same cannot be contrary to a provision.

In a landmark judgment, a nine-Judge bench of the Supreme Court declared that privacy to be a fundamental right saying that right to privacy is an intrinsic part of Right to Life and Personal Liberty under Article 21 and entire Part III of the Constitution.

30 DEAD IN VIOLENCE IN PANCHKULA AFTER DERA CHIEF RAPE VERDICT

At least 30 people were killed and 250 injured in Panchkula and other parts of Haryana after supporters of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect went on the rampage as news broke that their chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had been convicted of rape by a CBI special court.

MOTORISTS WILL FACE JAIL IF DON’T HAVE VALID DRIVING LICENCE

AADHAAR MANDATORY FOR REGISTRATION OF ALL VEHICLES: TELANGANA TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT

With effect from Aug 22, 2017, the Telangana state transport department has made Aadhaar mandatory for registration of all vehicles, and Aadhaar must to avail of any service offered by the RTA in the state, and the new rule does not even spare those wanting to transfer vehicle ownership for second or third time sales.

SUPREME COURT BENCH 3 OF 5 SAID CENTRE CANNOT INTERFERE WITH RELIGIOUS LAWS

MAN ARRESTED FOR POSTING MORPHED IMAGES OF ANDHRA PRADESH CHIEF MINISTER

Chittoor district police has lodged an FIR against Basavaraju, a native of Kaliganooru village of Santhipuram Mandal and arrested him for uploading morphed photographs of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and insulted him on social media.

TELANGANA STATE LAUNCHED HELPLINE NUMBER 181 TO HELP DISTRESSED WOMEN

The Telangana government launched women helpline number 181 for women to lodge complaints related to sexual harassment, immoral trafficking, and stalking, domestic violence or dowry harassment among others. The helpline will be functioning on all the 365 days, 24X7 and will also help in providing information related to women’s welfare schemes.

HIGH COURT ISSUED NOTICE TO TELANGANA GOVERNMENT IN CUSTODIAL TORTURE CASE

PAY RS 10L COMPENSATION TO RAPED WOMAN: SUPREME COURT ORDERS BIHAR GOVERNMENT

The Supreme Court directed the Bihar government to pay Rs 10 lakh compensation to a destitute woman who was allegedly raped and not allowed to abort her 26-week pregnancy after a medical board’s opinion.

CENTRE MAY NOT GIVE TRANSGENDERS EXEMPTION FROM SECTION 377 OF IPC

Transgender persons may not to be exempted from the ambit of the law criminalizing homosexuality. Sources said that the legality of Section 377 (criminalizes sexual activities against the order of nature, including homosexual sexual activities) of IPC, which makes homosexuality a crime, is pending before the Supreme Court, a reason why the government would not want to touch the sensitive issue.

SUPREME COURT SAID REMOVE GENDER-BIAS TO REDUCE ACID ATTACKS

The Supreme Court has said that having stringent laws and enforcement agencies may not be sufficient unless deep-rooted gender bias is removed from the society to reduce acid attack incidents on hapless women. The court made this statement while awarding life sentence to the accused Patra, who raped and thereafter thrown acid on the face of a woman, as Supreme Court faulted the Calcutta High Court for acquitting the main accused patra.

RELIEF FOR MAN AGAINST WIFE’S FALSE CASES

A man who had faced a criminal case in which his wife had falsely accused him of dowry harassment, and adultery to his superiors was finally saved by the Delhi Court after the court rejected the plea of his wife, and upheld the verdict of trial court stating that she was failed to produce evidence against her husband actions.
