A second appeal filed by a resident of Ahapura in Hyderabad who was intending to secure a victory in a property dispute by raising a technical issue pertaining to the payment of insufficient court fee was dismissed by the Hyderabad High Court.

ADVANI, JOSHI AND BHARTI TO APPEAR BEFORE CENTRAL BUREAU INVESTIGATION COURT

Former deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, BJP veteran Leader M M Joshi and Cabinet minister Uma Bharati, along with nine other saffron leaders, would appear before the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on May 30 for framing of charges in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

UNDER-AGE DRIVING CASES REDUCED IN CYBERABAD LIMITS

Cyberabad officials said that in the Cyberabad limits the under-age driving was reduced when compare to the previous year. There were 1636 cases of under-age driving were recorded in 2015 but in 2016 it were only 975, and in first 4 months of this year only 40 cases were recorded.

The facebook friend collected the intimate moments of couple with the help of their son and started blackmailing the teenager saying he would upload the content to social media if they did not pay 1 crore. After this incident the parents filed complaint with Cyber crime police.

NEED LAW TO DEAL WITH FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION

A report released on female genital mutilation (FGM) in India recommends sensitization measures to prevent the heinous practice and calls for a separate legislation. The report was prepared by Lawyers Collective, a human rights NGO, and Speak Out on FGM, a group of survivors.

While dismissing an appeal by a petitioner appearing for Civil Services, challenging an order in dismissing his petition seeking to correct his date of birth, the Hyderabad High Court has held that the request for change of date of birth can be considered only if it is filed within the statutory period of three years of the school record.

SOCIAL BOYCOTT OF MUSLIMS WHO PRONOUNCE TRIPLE TALAQ (DIVORCE): AIMPLB

The All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that it would advise the Qazis to tell the brides and grooms to not resort to triple talaq (divorce) in one sitting, and asserted that anyone who attempts it should be boycotted from the community.

Shocked by the horrible Nirbhaya rape, the Central government adopted a number of measures, financial and legal, to enhance the safety of women. But four years since the horrific rape, most of the promises remain on paper or are bound in red tape. A few states have moved ahead, but at a snail’s pace.

SUPREME COURT TO HEAR PLEA AGAINST AADHAAR MANDATORY BEFORE JUNE 30

The Supreme Court refrained from staying notifications making it mandatory for the citizens to quote Aadhaar numbers to avail benefits of various social welfare schemes. However, it agreed to hear the petitions challenging Aadhaar-related notifications before June 30.

SUPREME COURT REJECTED HIV POSITIVE WOMAN PLEA TO ABORT

Supreme Court has declined the plea of a HIV infected rape victim to abort her 26-week-old pregnancy based on the report prepared by the All India Institute for Medical Science (AIIMS) medical board saying that the procedure at such an advanced stage posed a risk to lives of the mother and her unborn child.

CYBER CRIMINALS USING FAKE WEBSITES TO STEAL MONEY FROM PEOPLE

Rachakonda Commissionerate has registered a complaint on cyber fraud. In the complaint it is stated that the victim is a private employee who had purchased a used mobile phone for 600 had lost 70,000 from his bank account, when he shared the bank account details and also the One-Time Password (OTP).
