Hyderabad
and Rangareddy are among top 70 districts in the country with high incidences
of child marriages as per Census 2011, breaking the myth that child marriages
occur more often in rural areas. This was revealed in a report titled ‘A statistical
analysis of child marriage in India based on Census 2011’ released by Young
Lives, the India chapter of an international research project, in association
with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
